There are some nights when you’re just feeling a little extra quirky and fun… Last night during this engagement session at A Fair Barn was definitely one of those nights for us! I literally couldn’t stop giggling with our couple! LOVE the cute & snuggly shots we captured during our engagement session with Kristen & Stephen! How incredibly cute are they!? And you know what’s even sweeter..? Their personalities are JUST as sweet as their smiles!¬†When Kristen first contacted me about their wedding we talked about how even though they were traveling all the way from Texas for their wedding¬†it was so important to¬†make time for a quick engagement session! The time we spend together during the engagement session helps us get to know our clients and really eases the pressure of photos for the wedding day. Once we’ve spent an hour or two being goofy and posing for an engagement session – couples¬†are PROS on the wedding day! The ‘rolling hills’ of Southern Illinois are few and far between, but there is a sweet little spot out at one of our favorite venues¬†A Fair Barn¬†in Salem, IL and the colors are just beautiful this time of year!¬†Spring is such a gorgeous time for photos! Everything is brighter and the colors are just so vibrant!¬†¬†We are so thankful that we could shoot this engagement session at A Fair Barn (which is just down the road from our BRAND NEW STUDIO on Lazy Acres Road in Salem!) and we will be back Saturday for their wedding festivities!¬†
Kristen shared a little about when Stephen popped the question & we wanted to share the mushy details!!
“We found a brochure for ‚ÄúNorth Alabama Wine Trail‚ÄĚ Jan 8,¬†2016, a semester before I graduated, Stephen mentioned we should go on this trail. We¬†drove 2 hours to the beginning of the trail and worked our way back home. On the map¬†there were six wineries we had to travel to across north Alabama. At each we got free¬†wine tastings, a stamp in our ‚Äúwine passport‚ÄĚ and we ended up buying a bottle of wine¬†from each. This was the first time we had tried muscadine wine, like the kind in the¬†country songs. By the time we got the final winery, we were in the mountains, and the¬†sun was setting. We took a walk on their little trail out back. There were 20-30 geese we¬†were walking towards before we saw a giant ant hill. I went to investigate is and after¬†taking too long I guess, Stephen called my name where I turned around to find him down¬†on one knee. I said yes!“
