Tropical Styled Wedding

This tropical styled wedding was funky, fun, and full of beachy cuteness!

Our tropical styled shoot sprouted from the desire to connect with local wedding vendors and showcase Florida’s west coast waters. Our photography team along with Coastal Coordinating orchestrated this event and captured elements of The West Events venue near Madeira Beach as well as the beach itself. Inspiration was gathered from the tropics and local looks.

Tropical Wedding Theme at The West Events

Marigold Flower Co. did a fantastic job bringing my vision to life. From the vibrant, tropical bouquets to the elaborate centerpieces.. Marigold Flower Co. was¬†phenomenal! All of the¬†pieces were created with all the perfect colors and blooms. Too bad I couldn’t take these beautiful arrangements with me at the end of the night. We¬†had a Disney day at Hollywood Studios planned – (hello Rockin’ Roller Coaster!) so they would not have survived!

Two of our models are a real married couple from Southern, IL who have relocated to the Tampa Bay area. Lauren and Taylor Welch were the first ones on board for the shoot. Lauren is a hair and makeup artist so of course she did her and her wife’s styles and wow… they looked amazing! The two of them are not only gorgeous, but the sweetest couple ever!

tampa jeweler

Westshore Diamond provided the sparkle for the shoot! The sapphire and diamond earrings had me in complete awe! Having a jeweler on site was so amazing – they were able to bring perfectly sized wedding and engagement rings for the models. I’m so thankful they were willing to loan out some of their stunning pieces for the photos.

Madeira Beach Tropical Wedding

Que the tears… our couple Christina Bosque and Matt Southerland are set to get married this summer and they did a mock first look at our event. It was pure magic! I thought I was going to cry watching Matt gush over how gorgeous his girl looked! These two brought spice and glam to the shoot.

wedding at the west events

One of our stations for the styled shoot included the beautiful bar area of The West Events and their exclusive bartender, CB Lundy’s. The signature drink they crafted for our shoot was a stunning paloma garnished with a grapefruit¬†slice.

Our stationary came from the Stationary Loft in Lakeland, FL and all the details we used for the photos were collected from Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Home Goods. My favorite details were definitely the Badgley Mischka shoes and Versace. Bonus perk of planning a styled shoot – you get some killer new perfume out of it!

Let’s talk about those amazing¬†dresses!! I connected with our dress designer Angel Rivera on the new Clubhouse app and crazy enough he was putting in a new store nearby. I’m not bragging, but Angel has worked for well known companies such as Kleinfield’s and has launched his own incredible business. We met for tacos at Hunger Street Tacos in Winter Park (amazing, btw!) and it was settled… his dresses had to be a part of the shoot! The detail in all the dresses from Angel Rivera Couture were impeccable!
Tell me you aren’t drooling over this charcuterie board?? Tastes of Tampa Bay rolled out the red carpet treatment for us! They brought so many amazing goodies to the photoshoot for the photographers to photograph AND eat! If you are going to photograph food – you should definitely get to eat it, too!

orlando florida cake bakery

Leonardo Fifth Avenue out of Winter Park in Central Florida supplied our menswear. I didn’t think that a suit could ever look so good. WOW! The colors, fabric, and elements of the suits were incredible. The cake was from the one and only LuBelle’s Cakes out of the Orlando, Florida area. Cortne is a rockstar. She created an ombre, sunset inspired cake that was a sheer delight! (Fun fact, she has worked as a pastry Chef for Walt Disney World!)

clara rose ice cream truck
The ice cream tricycle was SO fun! Clara Rose Ice Cream Truck came with their trike a boatload of delicious homemade ice cream treats! Having an ice cream trike at our tropical styled wedding shoot was an awesome way to give the attendees and vendors a cool treat to enjoy!
My husband, Garren, worked with an amazing guy named Ryan Murphy last year. We were so stoked to have him and his beautiful wife, Shannon, join us for the tropical styled wedding shoot. They were champs coming in at the last minute when we needed them. I had heard so many great things about them, but had never had the pleasure of meeting them in person! Crazy how photography can bring people together!
