Allison and Logan West are such a down to earth and loving couple! We’ve known them for years through our church (First Christian Church in Salem, IL) and we were so blessed to be a part of their big day! Both of their families are very dear to us! From the intimate ceremony to the thoroughly thought out reception details – this wedding was a complete success! Being able to photograph all the moments & details was such a blast!
Allison West was nice enough to share their story with us and we are excited to share it with you all!
From the bride, “Logan and I first met in 2007 when I was a freshman in high school and he was a senior. I was 15 and he was 17. We were both in marching band in high school so we spent a lot of weekends together at band competitions. We also started playing in the same worship band at our home church. Our friendship really began to develop and soon developed into something more! We began dating on February 16, 2011. This was the spring semester of my senior year of high school and he was a junior in college. We both went off to college the fall of 2011 and we had a long distance relationship for three and a half years. Thankfully we spent summers together, but we spent most of those years four hours a part. We got engaged on November 7, 2014 in a restaurant that is close to our hometown. We thought we would go out for a nice dinner together since I was home that weekend from college. He had big plans that night. After he proposed, we went outside and he had another surprise. He had planned for both of our families to come celebrate with us afterwards! It was such a memorable evening, definitely a life changing night for both of us. We had so much fun planning out wedding, from the tiny details up to the big decisions of that day. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. So many memories were made that day and we are thankful for everyone that helped that day happen. We got married on July 25, 2015 in our home church. We loved being surrounded by our close friends and family. Our favorite part of the entire wedding day was when we had our “Special Moment.” We saw that some couples had a “First Look”, but we didn’t want to see one another so we made it our own. We chose to write letters to one another and we would exchange those letters on our wedding day. So when the time came, we walked to our special spot in the church and we stood beside a wall, not seeing one another, and we exchanged those letters. We laughed and we cried, but most of all, we were together. We were able to pray and thank our Lord Jesus Christ for bringing us together. That is a moment that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.”
